Welcome to the MW Architecture & Design Podcast! In this podcast, I will be traveling the Midwest interviewing architects and designers in their own environments to dive deep into the creative process of these people and to learn their stories.
A few years ago, I was talking with a business coach and discovered that while I have been photographing the built environment for over 10 years, I didn’t really KNOW my subject intimately. Typically, clients hire me to shoot their projects because they like me and/or my work because of the way it looks… which is pretty normal, right?
Well, it made me wonder how much more interesting and meaningful my work would be if I actually knew more about what went into making these spaces a reality, or knowing more about the people that are able to bring these spaces to life. Knowing my subject more intimately would help me to not just photograph a technically correct image of a fireplace, for example, but to really capture the details of WHY that fireplace was selected and WHY that mantle and surround was chosen and tell a story that focuses on those things.
If you are an architect or designer in the Midwest with a project that you would like photographed, I would love to have you as a guest on this podcast and hear your story. Please contact me to get things scheduled!
