”Komorebi” - A Woodland Passive Home in Asheville, North Carolina
Architectural photography for a custom residential passive design in Asehville, NC
Client: Assembly AB
Photographed for Assembly A+B in Asheville, North Carolina, this home is shaped by sustainability, longevity, and a careful response to its wooded site. Raised on columns to reduce disturbance to the landscape, the home uses an elongated solar-south orientation, deep overhangs, and carefully placed openings to support passive heating, summer shade, rain protection, cross ventilation, and forest views. The photography focused on how those choices feel in place: burnt cedar exterior forms tucked among the trees, warm wood ceilings, quiet interiors, broad glass openings, and a strong indoor-outdoor connection throughout.
