While I did photograph this while living in Minnesota, this modern home in Le Sueur, Minnesota reflects the kind of project I’m drawn to when traveling beyond my primary service area in the Southeast. I often travel for homes where the surrounding environment, natural materials, or sense of place plays an important role in the design. Here, the photography focused on the contrast between the bold black exterior, warm wood accents, and natural light moving through the interiors. The home blends the comfort of a rustic cabin with the clean lines of contemporary residential architecture, with wood ceilings, an open-concept living area, a spacious kitchen, and simple modern details that feel quiet, grounded, and connected to the setting.
