Interior Design Video: Bold Modern Kitchen Design

I recently had the pleasure of creating an interior design video interviewing my friend Mary Wyar of Merrily Modern about her bright and colorful modern kitchen design and renovation that took place over the last 11 months. In this short video, Mary discusses some of the details about her kitchen - a subject that has helped her amass a following of over 14,000 people on Instagram.

Mary's kitchen had been in progress for nearly a year by the time we sat down to film this, which meant she had thought through every decision more carefully than most people think through anything. The green tile, the walnut cabinetry, the black dome pendants, the exposed ceiling beams - each one came with a reason. That is exactly the kind of subject that makes for a compelling interview. I did not have to prompt her much. She just talked and I pointed the camera at her kitchen. The result is one of my favorite videos I have made because it is genuinely informative and the space is worth every minute of it.
