Architecture in Asheville and Western North Carolina is often shaped by slope, view, material, weather, and landscape. My work focuses on documenting spaces that feel connected to their surroundings, from modern mountain homes to commercial and hospitality projects throughout the region.

I work regularly with architects, builders, and designers across the Asheville area and the broader Western North Carolina region. The architecture here has a character of its own. Structures shaped by terrain, climate, and the way light moves through the trees. My approach is to document how those spaces feel to be in, not just how they look in a single hero shot.

Featured Projects in the Asheville area

Hamburg Mountain Modern, Weaverville, NC A custom residence by Assembly A+B, organized around a protected courtyard rather than a conventional building pad. The home moves between indoor and outdoor zones across multiple decks, terraced landscapes, and a green roof off the primary suite. This was also the first installment of the Semi Silent film series. Luxury mountain home in forest setting in Asheville, NC's Reynolds Mountain neighborhood

Modern Mountain Retreat, Asheville, NC A residence in Reynolds Mountain designed by Legerton Architecture and built by Tyner Construction. Stone and wood exteriors, expansive decks, and floor-to-ceiling windows opening to the surrounding mountains. The multi-day shoot worked around rain and wildfire haze to capture the property in its full context. View the full project

HENDERSONVILLE ARCHITECTURE PHOTOGRAPHY

Hendersonville sits in the rolling foothills south of Asheville, with a mix of established neighborhoods and newer custom homes set against the surrounding ridgelines. Recent work in this market has ranged from traditional residential to modern infill, all documented with attention to how each home reads in its setting.

HIGHLANDS ARCHITECTURAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Highlands sits at over 4,000 feet of elevation in the Nantahala Mountains, where the architecture leans toward mountain estates, historic cabins, and homes built around long views. Material, craftsmanship, and a sense of place define this market.

Woodland Passive Home, Arden, NC "Komorebi," by Assembly A+B raised on columns to minimize site disturbance. Solar-south orientation, deep overhangs, and burnt cedar siding shape a home built for longevity. The photography focused on how those choices feel in place: warm wood interiors tucked among the trees with strong indoor-outdoor connections throughout. View the full project

SALUDA ARCHITECTURAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Just south of Asheville, Saluda has become home to a growing collection of thoughtful residential work tucked into the Saluda Mountains. The architecture here often emphasizes integration with the wooded terrain rather than dominance over it.
